La major part de la investigaci\u00f3 ha intentat construir millors descodificadors per extreure ordres m\u00e9s netes del soroll, per\u00f2 hi ha un l\u00edmit a quant pot ajudar aix\u00f2. Un estudi recent va adoptar un enfocament diferent.   En lloc d&#8217;intentar descodificar el cervell perfectament, els investigadors van afegir un copilot d&#8217;IA que observa la situaci\u00f3, infereix all\u00f2 que l&#8217;usuari est\u00e0 intentant fer i combina la seva predicci\u00f3 amb el senyal cerebral. Un participant amb par\u00e0lisi va passar d&#8217;un 0 a un 93% d&#8217;\u00e8xit en controlar un bra\u00e7 rob\u00f2tic. La idea \u00e9s senzilla: registrar senyals el\u00e8ctrics del cervell, descodificar el que la persona intenta fer i traduir-lo en una acci\u00f3, com ara moure un cursor en una pantalla o controlar una pr\u00f2tesi. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2506\" data-end=\"2941\">El problema \u00e9s que els senyals cerebrals, especialment els que es poden captar sense cirurgia, s\u00f3n sorollosos. Un casc d&#8217;EEG col\u00b7locat sobre el cuir cabellut registra l&#8217;activitat combinada de milers de milions de neurones a trav\u00e9s de pell i pinyol. \u00c9s una mica com intentar entendre una conversa dins d&#8217;un estadi recolzant l&#8217;o\u00efda a la paret exterior. Pots percebre que alguna cosa est\u00e0 passant, per\u00f2 els detalls queden difusos.   <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2943\" data-end=\"3242\">Per aquesta ra\u00f3, les BCI no invasives sempre han estat lentes i imprecises. Els usuaris es cansen. Els errors s&#8217;hi acumulen. I per a les persones amb par\u00e0lisi \u2014els qui m\u00e9s necessiten aquesta tecnologia\u2014 la dist\u00e0ncia entre all\u00f2 que volen fer i all\u00f2 que el sistema realment fa pot resultar frustrant.   <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3244\" data-end=\"3657\">La major part de la investigaci\u00f3 a BCI ha intentat resoldre aquest problema construint millors descodificadors: algorismes m\u00e9s sofisticats capa\u00e7os d&#8217;extreure un senyal m\u00e9s clar del soroll. Aix\u00f2 hi ajuda, per\u00f2 t\u00e9 un l\u00edmit. El senyal simplement no \u00e9s tan net. El casc t\u00e9 el\u00e8ctrodes situats sobre el cuir cabellut que mesuren diminuts senyals el\u00e8ctrics produ\u00efts per l&#8217;activitat cerebral. Aquests senyals reflecteixen patrons que canvien depenent del que la persona estiga intentant fer (per exemple, imaginar moure la m\u00e0 esquerra produeix un patr\u00f3 diferent del d&#8217;imaginar moure la m\u00e0 dreta).  <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4239\" data-end=\"4457\">Un descodificador -un algorisme d&#8217;aprenentatge autom\u00e0tic entrenat amb les dades cerebrals de l&#8217;usuari- tradueix aquests patrons en una adre\u00e7a: \u201cl&#8217;usuari intenta moure el cursor cap a la cantonada superior esquerra\u201d.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4459\" data-end=\"4588\">Aquest senyal descodificat \u00e9s aproximat: capta la direcci\u00f3 general, per\u00f2 no amb molta precisi\u00f3. I aqu\u00ed \u00e9s on entra el copilot. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4590\" data-end=\"4822\">En lloc d&#8217;enviar directament aquesta ordre sorollosa al cursor, el sistema tamb\u00e9 executa una IA que observa la pantalla, identifica quins s\u00f3n els objectius i formula la seva hip\u00f2tesi sobre el que l&#8217;usuari est\u00e0 intentant fer.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4824\" data-end=\"5110\">Despr\u00e9s, tots dos senyals \u2014la intenci\u00f3 del cervell i la predicci\u00f3 de la IA\u2014 es combinen. El participant va passar del 0 % al 93 % d&#8217;\u00e8xit.
